Haemophilus haemolyticus is a Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic coccobacillus in the family Pasteurellaceae, and a commensal of the human upper respiratory tract that requires both X (haemin) and V (NAD) growth factors. It is generally non-pathogenic but is frequently misidentified as non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae by routine laboratory methods, complicating surveillance and epidemiological studies. Genomic comparisons have revealed that H. haemolyticus can be reliably differentiated from H. influenzae through the absence of certain virulence-associated loci and by whole-genome average nucleotide identity.
Derived from 149 genomes: 6 from RefSeq and 143 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.1.
QualiBact qualibact-v1.1 thresholds for Haemophilus haemolyticus, refined from v1.0 based on the Nov 2025 expert-feedback survey.
The genome-size range is 1.75–2.10 Mb, with warning bounds of 1.80–2.10 Mb. The maximum contig count is 100.
All other thresholds inherit unchanged from v1.0. See the methods page for qualibact-v1.1 for the full pipeline.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
