Yersinia intermedia is a Gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic rod of the family Yersiniaceae, commonly found in freshwater, soil, and food sources. It is generally considered non-pathogenic or of low virulence in humans, but has occasionally been isolated from clinical specimens including stool, wounds, and blood, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. Y. intermedia lacks the pYV virulence plasmid and major pathogenicity islands found in Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, and its genome reflects an environmental rather than a host-adapted lifestyle.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
