Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a halophilic, Gram-negative curved rod within the family Vibrionaceae and a leading cause of seafood-associated gastroenteritis worldwide. It is naturally present in warm coastal waters and becomes clinically significant through consumption of raw or undercooked shellfish, particularly oysters. Pathogenic strains typically carry thermostable direct haemolysin (TDH) and TDH-related haemolysin (TRH) genes on type III secretion system islands, and V. parahaemolyticus genomes show substantial serotype diversity driven by recombination of O- and K-antigen loci.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
