Vibrio cholerae is a Gram-negative, curved rod of the family Vibrionaceae and the aetiological agent of cholera, a severe diarrhoeal disease responsible for major pandemics throughout history. Toxigenic strains of serogroups O1 and O139 produce cholera toxin (CT) and the toxin-coregulated pilus (TCP), both encoded on mobile genetic elements, while non-toxigenic strains are common in estuarine environments. V. cholerae has a bipartite genome with extensive horizontal gene transfer, prophage content, and genomic islands that drive the emergence of new pandemic lineages.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
