Streptococcus gordonii is a Gram-positive, alpha-haemolytic coccus of the family Streptococcaceae and a member of the mitis group of viridans streptococci. It is a primary coloniser of the oral cavity, playing a key role in dental plaque biofilm formation, but can also cause infective endocarditis when it enters the bloodstream. Genomically, S. gordonii possesses a well-characterised genome encoding multiple surface adhesins, competence systems for natural transformation, and cell-wall-anchored proteins that mediate coaggregation with other oral bacteria.
Derived from 107 genomes: 16 from RefSeq and 91 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
