Staphylococcus warneri is a coagulase-negative, Gram-positive coccus of the family Staphylococcaceae, commonly found on human skin as part of the normal flora. It is a rare opportunistic pathogen that can cause bloodstream infections, endocarditis, and prosthetic device infections, particularly in immunocompromised patients or those with indwelling catheters. Genomically, S. warneri possesses a moderately sized genome with biofilm-related genes and can acquire resistance determinants via mobile genetic elements, though it generally remains more susceptible than other hospital-associated coagulase-negative staphylococci.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
