Staphylococcus saprophyticus is a coagulase-negative, Gram-positive coccus of the family Staphylococcaceae, characteristically resistant to novobiocin. It is the second most common cause of uncomplicated urinary tract infections in young, sexually active women, possessing surface-associated adhesins such as UafA and the Ssp lipase that facilitate colonisation of the urogenital epithelium. Genomically, S. saprophyticus has a compact genome with a conserved core and species-specific uropathogenicity islands distinct from other coagulase-negative staphylococci.
Derived from 1,137 genomes: 21 from RefSeq and 1,116 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
