Staphylococcus pseudintermedius is a coagulase-positive, Gram-positive coccus of the family Staphylococcaceae, and the primary commensal staphylococcal species of dogs. It is a leading cause of canine pyoderma, otitis externa, and surgical site infections, with methicillin-resistant strains (MRSP) increasingly prevalent and posing a One Health concern due to occasional zoonotic transmission. Genomically, S. pseudintermedius carries a diverse set of virulence factors including exfoliative toxins and leukocidins, and exhibits a clonal population structure with globally disseminated multidrug-resistant lineages.
Derived from 5,184 genomes: 140 from RefSeq and 5,044 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
