Parabacteroides distasonis is an obligately anaerobic, Gram-negative rod of the family Tannerellaceae, formerly classified within the genus Bacteroides, and a common member of the human gut microbiota. It is generally considered a commensal with beneficial metabolic properties, including bile acid transformation and short-chain fatty acid production, though it can act as an opportunistic pathogen in intra-abdominal infections. P. distasonis genomes reveal extensive polysaccharide utilisation loci and capsular polysaccharide diversity, reflecting adaptation to the competitive intestinal niche.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
