Mycoplasmoides pneumoniae (formerly Mycoplasma pneumoniae) is a wall-less, Gram-stain-negative bacterium in the class Mollicutes, and a leading cause of community-acquired atypical pneumonia, tracheobronchitis, and upper respiratory tract infections in humans, particularly in children and young adults. It attaches to respiratory epithelial cells via a specialised tip organelle and causes disease through community-acquired respiratory damage and immune-mediated mechanisms. M. pneumoniae has one of the smallest known bacterial genomes (~0.8 Mb) with minimal biosynthetic capacity and limited strain diversity, organised into two major genotypic lineages defined by the P1 adhesin gene.
Derived from 343 genomes: 96 from RefSeq and 247 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
