Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a slow-growing, aerobic, acid-fast bacillus in the family Mycobacteriaceae, and the causative agent of tuberculosis, which remains the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent worldwide. It is an obligate human pathogen transmitted via respiratory aerosols, capable of establishing latent infection that can persist for decades before reactivating. The genome of M. tuberculosis (~4.4 Mb) is remarkably conserved with very limited horizontal gene transfer, and its GC-rich sequence encodes an unusually large number of genes devoted to lipid metabolism and cell-wall biosynthesis, key determinants of its pathogenicity and drug resistance.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
