Leptospira interrogans is a motile spirochaete with a Gram-negative-like cell envelope in the family Leptospiraceae, and is the most common causative agent of leptospirosis, a globally distributed zoonosis. Infection occurs through contact with water or soil contaminated by the urine of carrier animals, particularly rodents, and can range from mild febrile illness to severe multiorgan failure (Weil's disease). The bipartite genome of L. interrogans (~4.6 Mb) encodes a rich complement of lipoproteins, signalling systems, and motility genes that underpin its ability to colonise diverse mammalian hosts.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
