Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative, encapsulated, non-motile rod in the family Enterobacteriaceae, and one of the most important opportunistic pathogens worldwide. It causes a wide range of infections including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, bloodstream infections, liver abscesses, and neonatal sepsis, and hypervirulent strains can cause severe community-acquired disease in otherwise healthy individuals. K. pneumoniae is a critical priority pathogen for antimicrobial resistance, with the global spread of carbapenemase-producing (KPC, NDM, OXA-48-like) and hypervirulent lineages driven by extensive plasmid-mediated horizontal gene transfer and diverse capsular polysaccharide serotypes.
Derived from 70,874 genomes: 3,288 from RefSeq and 67,586 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
