Enterococcus lactis is a Gram-positive, catalase-negative coccus in the family Enterococcaceae, recently separated from Enterococcus faecium as a distinct species based on genomic and phenotypic analyses. It is predominantly isolated from dairy products and fermented foods, and is generally considered to have low virulence potential. E. lactis typically lacks the hospital-adapted genomic markers found in clinical E. faecium clade A1 strains, and some strains are being evaluated for use as probiotics or starter cultures.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
