Enterococcus hirae is a Gram-positive, catalase-negative coccus in the family Enterococcaceae, commonly found in the intestinal tract of animals, particularly poultry, swine, and cattle. It is a rare cause of human infection but has been reported in cases of bacteraemia, endocarditis, and urinary tract infections, mainly in immunocompromised individuals. E. hirae has been extensively studied as a model organism for cation transport and is notable for its well-characterised copper and potassium homeostasis systems.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
