Enterococcus durans is a Gram-positive, catalase-negative coccus in the family Enterococcaceae, found in the intestinal tract of humans and animals as well as in dairy products and fermented foods. It is an infrequent but recognised cause of opportunistic infections including endocarditis, urinary tract infections, and bacteraemia, predominantly in hospitalised patients. E. durans can acquire vancomycin resistance genes and other mobile resistance elements, although it is less commonly multidrug-resistant than E. faecium.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
