Enterococcus cecorum is a facultatively anaerobic, Gram-positive coccus of the family Enterococcaceae, commonly found as a commensal in the intestinal tract of poultry and other birds. In recent decades it has emerged as a significant pathogen of broiler chickens, causing osteomyelitis, spondylitis, and femoral head necrosis with substantial economic impact on the poultry industry. Pathogenic strains of E. cecorum show genomic differences from commensal isolates, including acquisition of putative virulence loci and enhanced biofilm formation capacity.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
