Enterococcus casseliflavus is a Gram-positive, catalase-negative coccus in the family Enterococcaceae, characterised by the production of a yellow pigment and motility, which are unusual among enterococci. It is found in plants, soil, and the intestinal tract of animals and humans, and occasionally causes opportunistic infections such as bacteraemia and endocarditis. E. casseliflavus carries the chromosomal vanC-2/vanC-3 gene cluster conferring intrinsic low-level vancomycin resistance, which is important to distinguish from acquired high-level resistance seen in E. faecium.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
