Deinococcus radiodurans is an aerobic, Gram-positive-staining (though with a complex, diderm-like cell envelope), non-motile coccus of the family Deinococcaceae, renowned as one of the most radiation-resistant organisms known. It can survive extreme doses of ionising radiation, desiccation, and oxidative stress, owing to highly efficient DNA repair mechanisms and a robust antioxidant defence system involving manganese complexes. The genome of D. radiodurans is organised into two chromosomes and two plasmids, and its DNA repair toolkit includes redundant recombination and excision repair pathways that enable rapid reassembly of shattered chromosomes.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
