Clostridium tetani is an anaerobic, Gram-positive, spore-forming rod of the family Clostridiaceae and the causative agent of tetanus, a life-threatening neurological disease characterised by spastic paralysis. Its highly resistant endospores are ubiquitous in soil and can contaminate wounds, where vegetative cells produce tetanospasmin, one of the most potent biological toxins known. The genome of C. tetani is relatively small (~2.8 Mb) with the tetanus toxin gene (tetX) carried on a large virulence plasmid (pE88).

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
