Borreliella afzelii is a Gram-negative spirochaete of the family Borreliaceae and one of the principal agents of Lyme borreliosis in Europe. Transmitted by Ixodes ticks, it has a particular tropism for skin tissue and is the main cause of acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans, a late cutaneous manifestation of Lyme disease. B. afzelii possesses a highly segmented linear genome with numerous linear and circular plasmids that encode surface lipoproteins critical for immune evasion and host adaptation.
Derived from 145 genomes: 5 from RefSeq and 140 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
