Bifidobacterium longum is a Gram-positive, anaerobic, non-motile rod of the family Bifidobacteriaceae, and one of the most prevalent bifidobacterial species in the human gut across all age groups. It encompasses several subspecies, including B. longum subsp. longum and subsp. infantis, which differ in their ecological niches and carbohydrate utilisation profiles. Genomically, B. longum exhibits an open pangenome with extensive strain-level variation in genes related to polysaccharide degradation, host interaction, and bacteriocin production.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
