Bifidobacterium animalis is an anaerobic, Gram-positive, non-motile rod belonging to the family Bifidobacteriaceae within the phylum Actinomycetota. It is a common inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tract of humans and other mammals and is one of the most widely used probiotic species, particularly the subspecies lactis, valued for its acid and bile tolerance. Genomically, B. animalis has a relatively compact genome with a stable core and limited accessory content, reflecting its adaptation to the gut environment.
Derived from 427 genomes: 61 from RefSeq and 366 from other sources. For the derivation pipeline and the PASS / WARN / FAIL verdict model, see the methods page for qualibact-v1.0.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
