Bacteroides xylanisolvens is an obligately anaerobic, non-spore-forming Gram-negative rod in the family Bacteroidaceae, isolated from human faeces and closely related to B. ovatus. As its name indicates, it specialises in the degradation of xylan and other hemicellulosic substrates, contributing to short-chain fatty acid production in the colon. B. xylanisolvens has received attention for its immunomodulatory properties, and an inactivated strain expressing blood-group B antigen has been evaluated for enzymatic conversion of blood types, highlighting the biotechnological potential of its surface glycobiology.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
