Bacillus safensis is an aerobic, endospore-forming Gram-positive rod in the family Bacillaceae, first isolated from a spacecraft assembly facility at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It belongs to the Bacillus pumilus group and has since been found in soil, marine environments, and the rhizosphere, where certain strains promote plant growth and produce antimicrobial compounds. B. safensis is notable for its resistance to UV radiation, hydrogen peroxide, and desiccation, and its genome encodes stress-response pathways that underpin survival in extreme and oligotrophic environments.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
