Bacillus licheniformis is a facultatively anaerobic, endospore-forming Gram-positive rod in the family Bacillaceae, widely distributed in soil, plant material, and bird feathers. It is industrially important as a prolific producer of enzymes (proteases, amylases), antibiotics (bacitracin, lichenicidin), and biosurfactants, and holds GRAS (Generally Recognised As Safe) status for many applications. B. licheniformis has a genome of approximately 4.2 Mb with extensive secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters, and while generally regarded as safe, it has been rarely associated with foodborne illness and opportunistic infections.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
