Bacillus anthracis is an aerobic, endospore-forming Gram-positive rod in the family Bacillaceae and the causative agent of anthrax, a zoonotic disease affecting herbivores and, occasionally, humans. Infection occurs through cutaneous, inhalational, or gastrointestinal routes, with inhalational anthrax carrying the highest mortality, and the organism is classified as a Tier 1 select agent due to its bioweapon potential. B. anthracis is genetically monomorphic within the Bacillus cereus sensu lato group, with its principal virulence factors -- the tripartite anthrax toxin and the poly-D-glutamic acid capsule -- encoded on the plasmids pXO1 and pXO2, respectively.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
