Acinetobacter baumannii is a strictly aerobic, non-fermenting Gram-negative coccobacillus in the family Moraxellaceae, widely recognised as one of the most problematic nosocomial pathogens worldwide. It causes ventilator-associated pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and wound infections, particularly in intensive care settings, and is notorious for its ability to acquire multidrug resistance, including carbapenem resistance. Genomically, A. baumannii possesses a highly plastic genome with numerous resistance islands, insertion sequences, and a large accessory genome that facilitates rapid adaptation to hospital environments.

How to read this: A value outside a failure limit fails QC. Within the failure limits, values beyond a warning limit are borderline and worth a manual look; values within the warning limits pass that criterion. A dash means that no bound is defined on that side.
